The following activities have been arranged for participants as part of the conference programme. Participants should book their preferred tour during registration. Places are limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Culham Science CentreThe tour will see the MAST and JET tokamaks on the Culham Centre for Fusion Energy site. JET is an EU experiment and the current world record holder for magnetic confinement fusion energy. It is also the only tokamak in operation in the world that has the capability to use deuterium and tritium. MAST is the UK experiment at CCFE and is a spherical tokamak. It is just coming to the end of an upgrade project which has incorporated an innovative new divertor to deal with the plasma exhaust problem.
Visitors will need to bring a form of photographic ID to enter the site (e.g. passport or driving licence) and wear covered shoes.A walking tour of Worcester College GardensA tour of the gardens with one of the college's gardeners (limited to 20 delegates). The tour will last approximately 1 hour and will include a tour of the Chapel.
